Free Baby Shower Games. #12

I think this game can go for any baby shower. I call it poop'n potatoes. You put as many as you can large potatoes between your legs from your knees and higher. Then you try to cross a room to the other side where there is a pail or bucket and you try to drop in as many as possible. Who ever gets the most in wins. Try not to drop any! If you use smaller ones you can fit more between the legs. It creates a roomful of laughs.

At a good friends baby shower, we had a chance to play Baby Bingo. Each guest is given a pre-made bingo card. Instead of using numbers, various gifts the expectant guest of honor at the baby shower may receive are written on the cards. As the mom to be opens the gifts you can check it off on your game card. The first five guests with bingo won small token gifts. This is a great game because the people were really focusing on the baby shower mom as she opened her gifts.

Another idea for a baby shower game: buy little plastic babies that are usually sold at cake decorating stores and freeze them in ice trays with water. Then put an ice cube with a frozen baby in it in a cup of water. As baby shower guests arrive you give them a cup and ask them to estimate the time they think their baby will be born, that is when their baby will completely be melted out of the ice.

Whoever is closest to their time wins!

Great idea for a baby shower game: Have every guest write down as many animal baby names as they can think of. For example,
a baby goat is called a "kid", a baby kangaroo is called a "joey", etc). Obviously, whoever gets the most-- wins!

Someone can volunteer to dress up as a baby with a few things on like a pacifier, diaper, rattle, and many other baby things. The guests at the baby shower will have two minutes to memorize all the baby items on the volunteer. The most important rule is that they cannot write any of the items down.

Once they have had two minutes the volunteer will leave the room and the guests start writing all that they remember about the baby items. For this part they will have another two minutes to remember and write down everything they saw. Then collect what everyone has written with their name on it. Call the volunteer back in the room and check the items people have written. The person who gets the most items right, wins.

Ask the ladies at the baby shower to take out their pocket change. Just in case, have some extra change to cover someone who does not have any. Everyone has a turn at mentioning something they have never done before. For example, never kissed a man with a beard, never had a change to go skiing or parasailing . Everyone who has done the things mentioned by others puts a coin in the piggy bank. Once everyone is done - you give the piggy bank to the guest of honor at the baby shower as the baby's first piggy bank with money.

At one baby shower that we attended, they sent around about 12-15 baby food jars without labels & numbers. The jars were sent around the room. The goal of the game was to see how many you could guess correctly. The winner of the game had the most "flavors" correct & won a prize.

This game is an idea for my upcoming shower... The hosts teen daughter will not be present at the beginning of the shower, but will show up for the first game. The teen will begin the skit by "barging" in on the event dressed strangely (you can decide how) and wanting to join in the party. She is wearing a large purse or satchel (important) carrying "goodies". The host is upset by the interruption and demands to see the teens invitation. The teen sits on the floor and begins taking "goodies" out of the purse one by one and placing them on the floor. The "goodies" are baby items. Finally she finds the invitation and shows it to the host. The host is satisfied with the invitation and says she can stay. The teen packs up her purse and joins the party. Now the guests have to write down every "goodie" the teen had in her purse. Whoever guesses the most correct items is the winner. ***** This is a fun game, and no one "tries" hard to remember the items because they don't expect a game. Also, the mom-to-be gets to keep all the "goodies" in the bag!!

Have every baby shower guest wear a clothes pin and when a person that has a clothes pin says "baby", the first one to catch the pin, gets that person's clothes pin. The one with the most clothes pins wins. It's fun to see how fast you can lose your pin and how hard it is to not say "baby".

Have the baby shower host draw a bingo card, that would be a box with 5 boxes across by 5 boxes down, leaving the boxes open and make enough photo copies for everyone attending. Before the gifts are opened, have everyone personally fill in the boxes with things they think the mom-to-be will get. As the presents are opened, each guest should cross out the appropriate boxes. For instance, if someone wrote down baby clothes and onesies - they could cross off both when the guest of honor opened a outfit with a matching onesie. The first guest to have all her boxes crossed out will be the winner. If at the end of the game or present opening, no one has a "bingo" then the closest one is the winner. Well, here's a couple of great games played at a baby shower.

Take some disposable (or cloth) diapers for each guest. In one of the diapers, put a good size chunk of peanut butter and fold it back in tightly. Put the diapers in a bag and then pass the bag around and have each baby shower guest pick one and open one. The one who gets the dirty diaper, gets a baby shower gift!

Here is one more baby shower games idea:
Get a real life-looking doll, one that you can easily change the clothes on. Have each baby shower guest take a chance at changing/dressing the doll, in the meantime the other assigned guests create distractions.. e.g. call out: phone is ringing, doorbell, food in oven is burning,
cat fell in the toilet, etc... say anything to throw them off, get creative. You can put these distractions on pieces of paper, pass them in a hat or the host can call them out.

Use a stop-watch to time each guest that participates and the one who can get the baby diapered/changed in the shortest time wins a baby shower gift!

This was a great game we played at one baby shower. The guest of honor is given the following ingredients:
sugar, flour, milk, water, baking powder, baking soda, butter, vanilla, eggs, oil, etc. Then the guest of honor was told to make a one layer cake from scratch. When the main guest requested an ingredient that wasn't on the table, one of the guests brought it to her from the kitchen.

While the main guest was mixing and measuring, the guests were given sheets of paper and pencils and told to write down their own recipes, as well as make suggestions to me. One person also wrote down main guest's "recipe" as she threw things together in a bowl. When the main guest was finished, the cake went into the oven at a temperature and duration specified. We opened gifts while it was baking. When it was done, I was required to taste at least one bite.

Well, it came out like a flat, sweet pound cake gone bad. Everyone laughed, and then we compared recipes. The guest who was closest to the actual recipe won a baby prize. Favorite part is the moral of the game: that marriage & children don't come with recipes, so we rely on the help of friends and family as we go along.

At a baby shower I recently attended they all played a baby game where the guests were split into two teams. All the ladies lined up in front of a table with the following items on it:

Things needed for Baby Shower Games
2 small travel packs of wipes
2 life size naked baby dolls
2 stacks of newborn disposable diapers
2 small bottles of baby powder

The main goal of the game was to see which team could
wipe, diaper, and powder the babies the soonest. The first lady in line diapers the baby and hands it off to the next person to repeat the process and it continues on like that. The first team to finish wins and the guest of honor gets all of the extra dolls and supplies.

Another of baby shower games that we have seen done at showers is one where each guest ( or a selected few ) are given small baby bottles filled with water or juice and who so ever finishes the bottle first wins.

One last one I have for baby shower games is one where several small baby shower items are put into brown paper lunch bags and the bags are sealed and numbered. The bags are then passed around to all of the ladies and they try to guess what each item is by feeling it through the bag. The person with the most correct guesses wins, and the guest of honor gets to keep all of the baby items and gifts.
